I’m sure you’ve heard the line It’s More Fun in the Philippines before, though there are times that these words were spoken in jest. We don’t have a perfect country and most of the people who are hating on their mother land are usually residents of Metro Manila. Sure, a lot can be said about the National Capital Region. Traffic and pollution are just some of the things I can think of. It’s also one of the main reason why I decided to quit working in the business district. The commute alone could take 2-3 hours in a day, worse when it’s raining, that’s just an average for someone like me who already lives in Metro Manila.
But the capital region doesn’t represent the whole country. It is a bad representation, I give you that but there is a lot more to the Philippines than what you usually see in the social media.
Below is a video produced by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Philippines late last year and it still shocks me that I live in a country with so much beauty in it. I grew up in Manila City and I crave the freshness of the sea and the field. Everything shown in the video is a dream destination of mine.
Watch the video and tell me why you think #itsmorefuninthephilippines.
