Postcard Perfect: Taal Volcano

My love for Tagaytay City and the view of Taal Volcano knows no bounds. I would willingly live in this city if our bank account permits us. Sadly, we can’t afford that, just occasional visits to this place.

We are yet to explore all of the restaurants in the area, if not all at least those that are recommended by foodies in the blogosphere. And of course a closer look at Taal Volcano. But for now, I’d satisfy my love for this place by looking at the photographs we took during our stay there.

Manila, Manila, I keep coming back to Manila

But of course, Manila (city) is my hometown. I’m a certified Manila girl.

I this Manila souvenir shirt. It’s black yet comfortable. And it has sparkly Manila print. It’s not really a souvenir shirt per se but I still love wearing this shirt.

I should wear this in my next visit to Manila. Perhaps on Father’s Day, a date with my old man, who is still residing in my hometown.

Chinese New Year Postcard

What is this? Super late post?

Anyway, I’ve been on a hiatus in blogging here and in Postcrossing. But I made sure to send some postcards to a few online friends for the Chinese New Year.

I found this beautiful caricature online and bought it in as a stock image then printed 12 dragon postcards at home. PhilPost released a Chinese New Year stamp for 2012 but I didn’t get to visit the Manila Central Post Office, I was aiming to make a maxicard out of it. Unfortunately, they were close for the holiday when we went to Binondo to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Oh, well. I’m still glad that I found these dragon stamps in Cubao Post Office. I think the recipients liked it anyway even if the postcards were postmarked a week later.

I wonder if I can make another homemade maxicard for the coming months. We’ll see.

In My Mail: from Postcard Perfect

I’ve been so busy and also lazy these days that I missed a lot of updates here and in my other blogs. That’s partially true, since my non existent mailbox is quite busy these past few weeks. I finally received the package from Willa. For some reason, travelling time of mails between Canada and Philippines, Cubao post office in particular usually takes awhile. Anyway, I was a third placer (go me!) in Postcard Perfect’s The Royal Giveaway and I received these goodies! Yay!

Please excuse daughter’s little grabby hands. She wanted to play with the Mickey Mouse stickers, hahaha!

Postcard: Apo Reef National Park

One day, the little toddler decided to play with Mommy’s postcards. It’s a good thing I was able to rescue this or I would have cried to death. *sobs* Looks like she loved the colors of this postcard. This was sent to me by Mommy Ruby of Postcard Enthusiast. (Thank you Mommy! )

Apo Reef is the second largest contiguous coral reef in the world and the largest one in the Philippines. The Apo Reef Natural Park consists of the three islands. Apo Reef is the largest among the three islands. It has a shallow lagoon with a depth of 2 meters to 10 meters surrounded by mangrove forest which serves as source of food, nursery and spawning ground of several coastal and marine species of fauna and sanctuary of birds. Its diverse corals are approximately 34 sq. km. of reef where different species of fish, marine mammals and invertebrates thrive.
